On June 13, 2016 Kyiv hosted the 5th jubilee Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum, organized by local Team Sweden – Business Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine. The leading topic of the Forum 2016 was innovations. Sweden is one of the three most innovative economies in the world, according to the 2016 Bloomberg Innovation Index. Swedish innovative products and solutions, innovative ways of working, the current business climate in Ukraine were discussed and above all how Sweden and Ukraine can become stronger through co-operating.
Mikael Damberg, Minister for Enterprise and Innovation of Sweden, opened the Forum and participated in one of the discussion panels about improving business environment through reforms in Ukraine. From Ukrainian side the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman welcomed the audience with an introductory speech. High level representation from Ukraine included Vice Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine, Minister of Justice, Minister of Finance, ex-Minister for Economic Development and Trade, Head of the State Fiscal Service, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, and many others from the Parliament and the Government visited the SUBF16 as guests.
In the end of the day the evening reception was held with the screening of the Sweden-Ireland football game which contributed to uniting Swedish and Ukrainian community even more.
Partners of SUBF16 were such companies as ABB, Atlas Copco, Electrolux, Ericsson, Oriflame, Scania, SEB, SKF, Sigma Software, Volvo, Winner, and Westinghouse. Beetroot, Sandvik, Larsson Sweden, SCA, Tillväxtverket, Vasil Kisil & Partners, Lantmännen AXA, Swedish Institute, AAK, Väderstad, and Xylem joined the event as participants.
